We use the word data to mean any unit of information. We use it very broadly, and sometimes interchangeably with information.

Examples of data in a business setting are: a draft job description written for a new position, the responses given by customers to a survey, and the contents of a message written between business leadership about a possible merger.

In usage on majorcord.com, data is usually digital, unless specifically mentioned as physical.

Data can be confidential or it could be public.
